It’s early morning and in the height of summer. Before the sun peaks in the sky and the creatures hide away from the burning heat, the forest and its inhabitants make the most of the coolness of the morning. You can still see the dew clinging to the blades of grass and watch the birds moving back and forth, heads bobbing in mechanical motions looking for insects on the ground. The colours of the summer mornings hover between greys and blues with the sky sharp and clear. The trees are dry and the wind running through the leaves creates a sound of rolling waves crashing onto the shore. These happy summer days, especially early in the morning have an electricity in the air, as though something exciting will unfold that day. There is a sense that these days are full of optimism and youthful exuberance, where the hours are long and when the sun does retire for the day, you sleep easy knowing another morning like this is just around the corner.
